5 Must-Stay Camping Sites In Utah

But what about when you’re looking for something for the whole weekend. One of our favorite weekend activities is to spend the weekend camping. Whether you’re looking for something a little close to home or a longer adventure away, and in Utah you’ll find it all. Today, we’ve gathered a few of our favorites to help you choose your next camping trip.

1) Cedar Breaks National Monument

If you are looking for some spectacular night sky views, you need to plan your next camping trip to Cedar Breaks National Monument. Located at over 10,000 feet, you can look down into a half-mile deep geologic amphitheater. And when the sun sets, you’ll have crystal-clear night skies to enjoy the beauty of the sky.

2) Mirror Lake Campground

Located in one of the largest and most visited National Forests in the country, Mirror Lake Campground is the perfect place to spend your weekend. Uinta-Wasatch-Cache National Forest is home to breathtaking landscapes, endless recreation, and something for everyone. You can’t possibly only spend one day exploring. And even then, you’ll find yourself wanting to go back up every free weekend.

3) Fred Hayes State Park at Starvation

When you need a secluded campsite, where you can have a relaxing weekend away. You need to check out Fred Hayes State Park at Starvation. Then spend time checking out the ATV trails, or the 3D archery course. Or any of the other amazing things they have to do while you’re there.

4) Willard Bay State Park

Willard Bay State Park is a year-round must stop. Whether you’re looking to spend some time in the water. Or you want to watch the wildlife, like the nesting eagles in the winter months. You can find it here. All while you’re camped under tall cottonwood trees that frame the night sky.

5) Kodachrome Basin State Park

Situated 22 miles away from Bryce Canyon National Park, Kodachrome Basin State Park is a must visit park. With 67 monolithic stone spires, the color and beauty found here, you won’t want to go home at the end of the weekend. Explore the area, even head over to the national parks. Then when the day is done, head back to camp surrounded by beauty and calm.
