1) Dead Horse Point State Park
Dead Horse Point State Park is an immense desert landscape of canyons, high desert woodland, and miles of trails to explore. You’ll find you’ll want to spend the whole weekend here as you explore everything Utah has to offer. From night skies filled with thousands of stars you can’t find in the city. To gorgeous views from millions of years of geological activity.
2) Antelope Island State Park
When you’re looking for a fun adventure without having to go too far from home, then you should consider checking out Antelope Island State Park. Stop in at the visitor center to learn about the plants and animals you’ll find on the island as well as in the lake. Then head out for a hike or to check out the historic Fielding Garr Ranch. 3) Goblin Valley State Park
Head out to a spot where the landscape is unlike anything else in the state. Goblin Valley State Park is covered with sandstone goblins and formation. And has even been compared to Mars. Camp among the nook and gnomes, then spend your days hiking, mountain biking, and checking out the ranger led programs.
4) Palisade State Park
If you want a lazy day by the water, then you want to check out Palisade State Park. Located near Sterling, Utah, this park is perfect for those looking to spend time swimming, paddleboarding, and even fishing. Though if you aren’t up for the water, then check out the 18-hole golf course. Or maybe rent an OHV and spend the day exploring local trails.
5) Kodachrome Basin State Park
Located in the southern part of the state, Kodachrome Basin State Park is a stellar weekend getaway. With great camping options along with colorful landscapes, you don’t want to miss out on checking this out. Hike among the sedimentary pipes that accentuate multi-hued sandstone layers. Then check out a 3D archer course or try your hand at some disc golf. No matter what you choose, you’re bound to have a fun time.
